CONTACTING SDMS
Our contact emails are displayed below, please allow a day or two for response as like all members we are volunteers and may be busy with work and/or family matters.
When rehearsing, we will be at the Portchester Parish Hall, Castle Street, Portchester, near Fareham, PO16 9PY on Wednesdays from 7:30 pm to about 9:30 pm. New enquiries would be welcomed then during a suitable break in singing/rehearsals. There are usually no rehearsals during August.
We are always looking for and welcome new members to either take part on stage (singing, acting, dancing) or help behind the scenes with a variety of activities.

Stage work
To be considered for stage work all members will be required to attend and pass an audition. Please contact our Member Secretary - see above. (NOTE - On occasions, selection for a specific show may subject to limited numbers and/or parts specific.)
Behind the scenes
Many activities are covered here, a little like an iceberg; the actors on stage are only the tip of a show production! There are often more members involved in show preparation and behind the scenes during show week than there are on stage!
At a top level each show will need key personnel (either hired professionally or sourced in-house depending on the nature and venue for each show) such as:- Show Producer, Musical and/or Singing Directors, Stage Manager, Sound and Lighting engineers etc.
At a secondary level BUT equally as important for a show to function; wardrobe co-ordinators, make-up teams, scenery shifters, props team, other helpers to make and source things (e.g. scenery parts, props etc), front of house staff, ticket sellers, refreshment providers etc.
Getting involved in show aspects no matter how small will mean being part of a great social society, all working towards a successful show week. Please contact our Member Secretary - see above.
